Power-Electronic Systems for the Grid Integration of Renewable Energy Sources: A Survey

TL;DR: New trends in power electronics for the integration of wind and photovoltaic (PV) power generators are presented and a review of the appropriate storage-system technology used for the Integration of intermittent renewable energy sources is introduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Renewable Energy Systems With Photovoltaic Power Generators: Operation and Modeling

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that when PV array- inverters are operating in the master mode in stand-alone applications, they well perform the task of controlling the voltage and frequency of the power system and that PV power generators constitute a valuable energy source.
Journal ArticleDOI

Using Wavelet Analysis to Assess Turbulence/Rotor Interactions

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used wavelet analysis techniques to study the decomposition and interpretation of turbulence/rotor interaction in wind turbine rotor blades and found that the presence of coherent turbulent structures, as revealed by the inflow Reynolds stress field, is a major contributor to large load excursions.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Hybrid power system with a controlled energy storage

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated a small isolated hybrid power system that used two types of power generation; wind turbine and diesel generation, and studied the interaction among hybrid power systems components and the relative size of the components.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

The Wind Farm Aggregation Impact on Power Quality

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of wind farm power fluctuations on the power network were explored in a dynamic simulation of a wind farm and the spatial distribution of the wind turbines was considered, and the effect of power fluctuations was quantified by measuring the flicker and voltage variation for different case studies.
