Journal ArticleDOI

Allosteric interactions between GB1 and GB2 subunits are required for optimal GABAB receptor function

TL;DR: The data indicate that multiple allosteric interactions between the two subunits are required for wild‐type functioning of the GABAB receptor and highlight further the importance of the dimerization process in GPCR activation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mapping the Agonist-binding Site of GABAB Type 1 Subunit Sheds Light on the Activation Process of GABABReceptors

TL;DR: The data demonstrate the pivotal role played by the GABAB1 subunit in the activation of the heteromeric GABAB receptor and are consistent with the idea that a closed state of the binding domain of family 3 receptors is required for their activation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reelin, Very-Low-Density Lipoprotein Receptor, and Apolipoprotein E Receptor 2 Control Somatic NMDA Receptor Composition During Hippocampal Maturation in Vitro

TL;DR: It is found that maturation is characterized by the gradual decrease of the participation of NR1/2B receptors to whole-cell NMDAR-mediated currents, which is mirrored by a timely correlated increase of both Reelin immunoreactivity in neuronal somata and the amount of secreted Reelin.
Journal ArticleDOI

The intracellular loops of the GB2 subunit are crucial for G-protein coupling of the heteromeric gamma-aminobutyrate B receptor.

TL;DR: The i2 loops of GB1 and GB2 in the GABA(B) receptor ability to activate G(alpha)-proteins are investigated and the use of mutations in i2, i3, or both within the GB2 HD brings evidence for the absence of domain swapping enabling the exchange of region including i2 and i3 between the subunits.
