Basal levels of blood pepsinogen I and Helicobacter pylori infection in patients with duodenal ulcer and normal endoscopy
TL;DR: Basal pepsinogen I levels were significantly higher in duodenal ulcer patients than in H. pylori infected subjects with normal endoscopy, suggesting an additional factor other than H.pylori infection is likely involved in the hyperpepsinogenemia classically reported in duODenal Ulcer patients.

Letter: Helicobacter pylori infection and eosinophilic oesophagitis ‐ causal or casual inverse association?
TL;DR: A prospective study with age and gender-matched controls hinting at the potential protective role of Helicobacter pylori infection in the development of eosinophilic oesophagitis (EoE) in adult patients is reported, provocatively suggesting that the endemic rise of asthma and other allergies may be causally related to complex and evolving compositional changes in the authors' indigenous gastrointestinal microbiota due to a modern lifestyle.
