Journal ArticleDOI
Review article: Helicobacter pylori infection and gastric outlet obstruction - prevalence of the infection and role of antimicrobial treatment.
TL;DR: Differences in variables, such as the number and type of diagnostic methods used or the frequency of non‐steroidal anti‐inflammatory drug intake, may be responsible for the low prevalence reported in some studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection 2012.
TL;DR: Choice of treatment is strongly dependent on antibiotic resistance rates, and vaccination would be the best option, especially for developing countries, but little progress has been made in designing a vaccine.
Journal ArticleDOI
Role of partner's infection in reinfection after Helicobacter pylori eradication
Javier P. Gisbert,Isabel Garcia Arata,Daniel Boixeda,Mercedes Barba,Rafael Cantón,Antonio Garcia Plaza,José María Pajares +6 more
TL;DR: The molecular study demonstrated that the strains in reinfected patients and their partners are different, suggesting that the patient's partner does not act as a reservoir for H. pylori reinfection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tuberculous chemoprophylaxis requirements and safety in inflammatory bowel disease patients prior to anti-TNF therapy.
Yamile Zabana,Eugeni Domènech,Antonio López San Román,Belén Beltrán,José Luis Cabriada,Cristina Saro,Robert Araméndiz,Daniel Ginard,Joaquín Hinojosa,Javier P. Gisbert,Míriam Mañosa,Eduard Cabré,Miquel A. Gassull +12 more
TL;DR: More than 10% of Spanish IBD patients who are candidates for anti‐TNF therapy have latent TB, and TST retest is required to identify at least 14% of such patients; therefore, it should be considered if the initial TST is negative.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relation between histologic subtypes and location of gastric cancer and Helicobacter pylori.
C. Martín-de-Argila,Daniel Boixeda,C. Redondo,I. Alvarez,Javier P. Gisbert,A García Plaza,Rafael Cantón +6 more
TL;DR: The aim of this study was to determine the seroprevalence of H. pylori in a group of gastric cancer patients and the association between H.pylori and specific histologic types of Gastric cancer and tumor location within the stomach.
