We use coupled optical and electrical modeling to guide optimization of such nanostructures. We study thin-film n-i-p a-Si:H devices and demonstrate that nanostructures can be tailored to minimize absorption in the doped a-Si:H, improving carrier collection efficiency. This suggests a method for device optimization in which optical design not only maximizes absorption, but also ensures resulting carriers are efficiently collected. Design of Nanostructured Solar Cells Using Coupled Optical and Electrical Modeling - eScholarship

In this paper, we have investigated device reliability by studying the impact of interface traps, both donor (positive interface charges) and acceptor (negative interface charges), present at the Si/SiO2 interface, on analog/RF performance and linearity distortion analysis of heterogeneous-gate-dielectric gate-all-around tunnel FET (HD-GAA-TFET), which is used to enhance the tunneling current of TFET. Various figures of merit such as cutoff frequency $f_{{T}}$ , maximum oscillation frequency $f_{\max}$ , transconductance frequency product, higher order transconductance coefficients $({g}_{{m}1}, {g}_{{m}3})$ , VIP2, VIP3, IIP3, IMD3, zero crossover point, and 1-dB compression point have been investigated, and the results obtained are simultaneously compared with a gate-all-around TFET (GAA-TFET). Simulation results indicate that HD-GAA-TFET is more immune toward the interface trap charges present at the Si/SiO2 interface than the GAA TFET and hence can act as a better candidate for low power switching applications. All simulations have been done on an ATLAS device simulator.

The emerging perovskites are the potential material for solar cell application. However, the widely used lead perovskite is toxic in nature and needs to be replaced with non-toxic, efficient tin-perovskite. In this work, a tin-Perovskite solar cell structure is simulated using AFORSHET v2.5 1-D simulator. The numerical simulation and analysis are carried out for structure hole transport material /MASnI 3 / electron transport material. Different hole and electron transport materials reported with perovskites are studied to analyze the performance of Tin-perovskite solar cell. The simulated structure shows a maximum achievable efficiency of 19% with V OC 0.94 V. However; these results can help to select a suitable HTM/ETM for Tin-Perovskite and further can help to study the effect of different materials on the solar cell performance.

Performance Evaluation of Lead-free Perovskite Solar Cell with Different Hole/Electron Transport Materials

Neural recording interfaces are being developed to record neuronal activities of the brain for several decades. There is a stringent requirement to provide conditioning to the weak neural signals. However, various analog designers come across a major challenge of lowering down the values of power consumption by the neural signal conditioning stage owing to the noise and bandwidth trade-offs to power. As an anticipated solution to the same, the design of low-noise operational-transconductance amplifier (OTA) - Capacitor filter or g m -C filter capable of passing EEG signals has been presented in this paper. The reported gm-C filter which relies on Gate-Capacitive Bulk-Driven and current-division technique has been implemented in Cadence Analog Design Platform using standard 0.18 μm CMOS process with BSIM3V3 models of transistors. The simulation results indicate that the proposed circuit draws a very low power (0.368 μW) from the power supply of ± 0.5 V with the total-integrated input referred noise voltage of 4.6 μVRMS and -3 dB frequency of 56.2 Hz. The suggested architecture design of the demonstrated conditioning stage may be useful in the field of low-power neuroprosthetic applications.
