Journal ArticleDOI

Lipodystrophy defined by a clinical score in HIV-infected men on highly active antiretroviral therapy: correlation between dyslipidaemia and steroid hormone alterations.

TL;DR: This study demonstrates an association between the cortisol:DHEA ratio, lipid alterations and lipodystrophy, which might result from an imbalance between peripheral lipolysis and lipogenesis, both regulated by cortisol and DHEA.
Journal ArticleDOI

New Insights in Anorexia Nervosa.

Journal ArticleDOI

Malnutrition and wasting, immunodepression, and chronic inflammation as independent predictors of survival in HIV-infected patients.

TL;DR: Age, stage of disease, number of previous opportunistic infections, and antiviral therapies were not associated with a change in survival, and only CD4 counts, lean body mass/height squared, and CRP remained significant independent predictors of survival after controlling for other factors.
