Journal ArticleDOI

Retrospective time-trend study of polybrominated diphenyl ether and polybrominated and polychlorinated biphenyl levels in human serum from the United States.

TL;DR: The concentrations of most of the PBDEs had significant positive correlations with time of sample collection, and PCB and PBB levels were negatively correlated with sample collection year, indicating that the levels of these compounds have been decreasing since their phaseout in the 1970s.
Journal ArticleDOI

Semiautomated High-Throughput Extraction and Cleanup Method for the Measurement of Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers, Polybrominated Biphenyls, and Polychlorinated Biphenyls in Human Serum

TL;DR: Overall reproducibility during processing of eight batches of samples (N = 30/batch, including methods blanks) was below 10% for most analytes, and Reproducibility and precision of the liquid handler used for internal standard additions were shown to be 2 and 4%, respectively.
Journal Article

Concentration of Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDEs) in Household Dust from Various Countries Is Dust a Major Source of Human Exposure

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the results of a study conducted by the National Research Centre for Environmental Toxicology at the University of Queensland in Queensland, Australia, using a Mass Spectrometry (MS) system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Concentration of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in household dust from various countries

TL;DR: It is concluded that further studies are required to investigate human indoor exposure to PBDEs across countries and to determine the risk factors related to indoor design factors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Levels and congener distributions of PCDDs, PCDFs and non-ortho PCBs in Belgian foodstuffs-assessment of dietary intake

TL;DR: Congener-specific analyses of 7 polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs), 10 polychlorined dibenzofurans (PCDFs), and 4 non-ortho (coplanar) poly-chlorinated biphenyls (cPCBs) were performed on 197 foodstuffs samples of animal origin from Belgium during years 2000 and 2001 as mentioned in this paper.
