Fundamental aspects of the hydromechanical behaviour of Callovo-Oxfordian claystone: From experimental studies to model calibration and validation

TL;DR: In this paper, the main features of the hydromechanical behaviour of COx claystone were discussed and a series of laboratory test results (triaxial compression and creep tests) provided model development teams with a coherent database for calibration and validation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Corrosion modelling of iron based alloy in nuclear waste repository

TL;DR: In this paper, the diffusion Poisson Coupled Model (DPCM) was proposed to model the oxidation of a metal covered by an oxide layer, which is similar to the Point Defect Model and the Mixed Conduction Model except for the potential profile which is not assumed but calculated in solving the Poisson equation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Water retention and gas relative permeability of two industrial concretes

TL;DR: In this article, the water retention properties of two industrial concretes to be used for long-term underground nuclear waste storage structures were identified, together with gas transfer properties at varying water saturation level, and a single relative gas permeability curve was proposed for each concrete, based on Van Genuchten-Mualem's statistical model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multi-scale pore structure of COx claystone: Towards the prediction of fluid transport

TL;DR: In this paper, the pore network of COx claystone was reconstructed from 2D image stacks and as 3D reconstructed volumes using focused ion beam (FIB) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
Journal ArticleDOI

Gas flow in Callovo-Oxfordian claystone (COx): results from laboratory and field-scale measurements

TL;DR: In this article, a series of laboratory and field scale experiments have been performed on the Callovo-Oxfordian claystone (COx), the proposed host rock for the French repository.
