Journal ArticleDOI
How accurate is magnetic resonance imaging in restaging rectal cancer in patients receiving preoperative combined chemoradiotherapy
TL;DR: In restaging irradiated tumors, magnetic resonance imaging had the accuracy of 52 percent in T stage and 68 percent in N stage and poor agreement between post–combined chemoradiotherapy magnetic resonance Imaging and pathologic staging was observed in both T and N stages.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oral Glutamine Is Effective for Preventing Oxaliplatin-Induced Neuropathy in Colorectal Cancer Patients
Wei Shu Wang,Jen Kou Lin,Jen Kou Lin,Tzu Chen Lin,Tzu Chen Lin,Wei Shone Chen,Wei Shone Chen,Jeng Kae Jiang,Jeng Kae Jiang,Huann Sheng Wang,Huann Sheng Wang,Tzeon Jye Chiou,Tzeon Jye Chiou,Jin Hwang Liu,Jin Hwang Liu,Chueh Chuan Yen,Chueh Chuan Yen,Po Min Chen,Po Min Chen +18 more
TL;DR: It is shown that oral glutamine significantly reduces the incidence and severity of peripheral neuropathy of MCRC patients receiving oxaliplatin without affecting response to chemotherapy and survival.
Journal ArticleDOI
Is it reasonable to add preoperative serum level of CEA and CA19-9 to staging for colorectal cancer?
Chien Chih Chen,Shung Haur Yang,Shung Haur Yang,Jen Kou Lin,Tzu Chen Lin,Wei Shone Chen,Jeng Kae Jiang,Huann Sheng Wang,Shih Ching Chang +8 more
TL;DR: Patients with an elevated level of both CEA and CA19-9 in stage II of colorectal cancer have a significantly poorer prognosis than those with normal levels of these markers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Curative resection of T1 colorectal carcinoma: risk of lymph node metastasis and long-term prognosis.
Huann Sheng Wang,Wen Yih Liang,Tzu Chen Lin,Wei Shone Chen,Jeng Kae Jiang,Shung Haur Yang,Shih Ching Chang,Jen Kou Lin +7 more
TL;DR: Variables that predict lymph node metastasis in surgically resected T1 colorectal carcinoma may not impact the long-term prognosis, according to retrospectively studied patients undergoing curative resection at the Taipei Veterans General Hospital.
Journal ArticleDOI
UGT1A1*28 polymorphism predicts irinotecan-induced severe toxicities without affecting treatment outcome and survival in patients with metastatic colorectal carcinoma.
Chunyu Liu,Po Min Chen,Po Min Chen,Tzeon Jye Chiou,Tzeon Jye Chiou,Jin Hwang Liu,Jin Hwang Liu,Jen Kou Lin,Jen Kou Lin,Tzu Chen Lin,Tzu Chen Lin,Wei Shone Chen,Wei Shone Chen,Jeng Kae Jiang,Jeng Kae Jiang,Huann Sheng Wang,Huann Sheng Wang,Wei Shu Wang,Wei Shu Wang +18 more
TL;DR: Assessment of the influence of the uridine‐diphosphoglucuronosyl transferase 1A1 polymorphism on the efficacy and toxicity of irinotecan treatment in Chinese patients with metastatic colorectal carcinoma (CRC).
