Journal ArticleDOI
How accurate is magnetic resonance imaging in restaging rectal cancer in patients receiving preoperative combined chemoradiotherapy
TL;DR: In restaging irradiated tumors, magnetic resonance imaging had the accuracy of 52 percent in T stage and 68 percent in N stage and poor agreement between post–combined chemoradiotherapy magnetic resonance Imaging and pathologic staging was observed in both T and N stages.
Journal ArticleDOI
Magnolol and honokiol isolated from magnolia officinalis protect rat heart mitochondria against lipid peroxidation
TL;DR: Both magnolol and honokiol exhibited free radical scavenging activities as shown by the diphenyl-p-picrylhydrazyl assay, but they were less potent than alpha-tocopherol.
Journal ArticleDOI
Two antiplatelet agents from Magnolia officinalis.
Che-Ming Teng,Chien Chih Chen,Feng-Nien Ko,Lih-Gen Lee,Tur-Fu Huang,Yuh-Pan Chen,Hong-Yen Hsu +6 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that the antiplatelet effect of magnolol and honokiol is due to an inhibitory effect on thromboxane formation and also an inhibition of intracellular calcium mobilization.
Journal ArticleDOI
Is it reasonable to add preoperative serum level of CEA and CA19-9 to staging for colorectal cancer?
Chien Chih Chen,Shung Haur Yang,Shung Haur Yang,Jen Kou Lin,Tzu Chen Lin,Wei Shone Chen,Jeng Kae Jiang,Huann Sheng Wang,Shih Ching Chang +8 more
TL;DR: Patients with an elevated level of both CEA and CA19-9 in stage II of colorectal cancer have a significantly poorer prognosis than those with normal levels of these markers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Elasticity of single-crystal calcite and rhodochrosite by Brillouin spectroscopy
TL;DR: The single-crystal elastic moduli of natural samples of both calcite and rhodochrosite (MnCO 3 ) have been measured by Brillouin spectroscopy under ambient condition as mentioned in this paper.
