Journal ArticleDOI
Primary chromosomal rearrangements of leukemia are frequently accompanied by extensive submicroscopic deletions and may lead to altered prognosis
Elena Kolomietz,Jaudah Al-Maghrabi,Shawn Brennan,Jana Karaskova,Solomon Minkin,Jeffrey H. Lipton,Jeremy A. Squire +6 more
TL;DR: These findings are the first to show that the process of deletion formation is not disease specific in leukemia and also implicate that the presence of repetitive DNA in the vicinity of breakpoint regions may facilitate the generation of submicroscopic deletions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular Predictors of Outcome in a Phase 3 Study of Gemcitabine and Erlotinib Therapy in Patients With Advanced Pancreatic Cancer: National Cancer Institute of Canada Clinical Trials Group Study PA.3
Gilda da Cunha Santos,Neesha C. Dhani,Dongsheng Tu,Kayu Chin,Olga Ludkovski,Suzanne Kamel-Reid,Suzanne Kamel-Reid,Jeremy A. Squire,Wendy R. Parulekar,Malcolm J. Moore,Malcolm J. Moore,Ming-Sound Tsao,Ming-Sound Tsao +12 more
TL;DR: Mutation status of the v‐Ki‐ras2 Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog (KRAS) and EGFR gene copy number (GCN) were evaluated as predictive markers in 26% of patients who had tumor samples available for analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predictive and Pharmacodynamic Biomarker Studies in Tumor and Skin Tissue Samples of Patients With Recurrent or Metastatic Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Head and Neck Treated With Erlotinib
Mark Agulnik,Gilda da Cunha Santos,David W. Hedley,Trudey Nicklee,Patricia P Reis,James Ho,Gregory R. Pond,Heidi Chen,Shuo Chen,Yu Shyr,Eric Winquist,Denis Soulières,E. X. Chen,Jeremy A. Squire,Paula Marrano,Suzanne Kamel-Reid,Janet Dancey,Lillian L. Siu,Ming-Sound Tsao +18 more
TL;DR: High EGFR gene copy in tumor specimens may predict which patients have an increased likelihood of response to erlotinib, and decreased p-EGFR level in skin biopsies during therapy may represent a potential surrogate marker for improved clinical outcome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Amplification of telomerase (hTERT) gene is a poor prognostic marker in non-small-cell lung cancer.
Chang-Qi Zhu,Jean-Claude Cutz,Ni Liu,Lau D,Frances A. Shepherd,Frances A. Shepherd,Jeremy A. Squire,Ming-Sound Tsao +7 more
TL;DR: Data indicate that gene amplification is an important mechanism for hTERT overexpression in lung adenocarcinoma and is an independent poor prognostic marker for disease-free survival in NSCLC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evidence of multifocality of telomere erosion in high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (HPIN) and concurrent carcinoma
Bisera Vukovic,Paul C. Park,Jaudah Al-Maghrabi,Ben Beheshti,Joan Sweet,Andrew Evans,John Trachtenberg,Jeremy A. Squire +7 more
TL;DR: Observations lend support to the hypothesis that telomere erosion may be a consistent feature of CaP oncogenesis and may also be associated with the generation of chromosomal instability that characterizes this malignancy.
