Journal ArticleDOI

Development of a DNA vaccine designed to induce cytotoxic T lymphocyte responses to multiple conserved epitopes in HIV-1.

TL;DR: Data indicate that the EP HIV-1090 DNA vaccine may be suitable for inducing relevant HIV-1-specific CTL responses in humans, similar to those induced by immunization with peptides.
Journal ArticleDOI

Human prion disease and relative risk associated with chronic wasting disease.

TL;DR: Colorado death certificate data from 1979 through 2001 show that the risk for Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease did not increase for residents of counties where chronic wasting disease is endemic among deer and elk.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prevalence and screening of traumatic brain injury among veterans seeking mental health services.

TL;DR: The prevalence of TBI in this VA mental health treatment population was higher than expected and additional research is required to assess the clinical utility of screening for TBI among this population of Veterans.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bioelectrical impedance in the clinical evaluation of liver disease.

TL;DR: To measure total body water (TBW) and extracellular water (ECW) in 35 patients with end-stage liver disease, including those undergoing orthotopic liver transplantation and to compare these values with measurements of TBW by deuterium oxide and of ECW by bromide dilutions, bioelectrical impedance analysis was used.
