Journal ArticleDOI

N2O formation in the ammonia oxidation and in the SCR process with V2O5-WO3 catalysts

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of V2O5-WO3/TiO2 catalysts were tested under conditions close to those found in their industrial use and the results confirm that nitrous oxide formation mechanisms in both processes were clearly related to the active phase composition, increasing the formation of this undesired compound.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of NH3 and NO oxidation on the SCR reaction mechanism on copper/nickel and vanadium oxide catalysts supported on alumina and titania

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of ammonia and nitric oxide oxidation on the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO by ammonia with copper/nickel and vanadium oxide catalysts, supported on titania or alumina have been investigated, paying special attention to N2O formation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gas-phase photo-assisted mineralization of volatile organic compounds by monolithic titania catalysts

TL;DR: In this article, a new monolithic catalyst based on Pt/TiO2 was developed for the photocatalytic destruction of traces of organic pollutants present in gaseous emissions, which can be described as composed of platinum dispersed over the surface of titania-anatase particles, which were intimately mixed with the fibrous magnesium silicate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development of a new Rh/TiO2-sepiolite monolithic catalyst for N2O decomposition

TL;DR: In this article, a monolithic catalysts based on Rh/TiO 2 -sepiolite were developed and tested in the decomposition of N 2 O traces, and several effects such as the presence of NO, O 2 and NO+O 2 in the gas mixture, the catalysts pre-treatment and the metal loading were evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nitrous oxide formation in low temperature selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides with V2O5/TiO2 catalysts

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of catalyst composition and some operating variables were evaluated in terms of N2O formation, using V2O5/TiO2 catalysts, and the results suggest that adsorbed ammonia not only reacts with NO via SCR, but also with small quantities of oxygen activated by the presence of NO.
