Journal ArticleDOI
The MICA-A9 triplet repeat polymorphism in the transmembrane region confers additional susceptibility to the development of psoriatic arthritis and is independent of the association of Cw*0602 in psoriasis.
Segundo Gonzalez,Jesús Martínez-Borra,Juan Carlos Torre-Alonso,Severino Gonzalez-Roces,J. Sánchez del Río,A Rodríguez Pérez,Chaim Brautbar,Carlos López-Larrea +7 more
TL;DR: Independent of the HLA-C association, Mica-A9 polymorphism corresponding to the MICA-002 allele is a possible candidate gene for the development of PsA, consistent with the polygenic inheritance of psoriasis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Protective Effect of the HLA-Bw4I80 Epitope and the Killer Cell Immunoglobulin-Like Receptor 3DS1 Gene against the Development of Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Patients with Hepatitis C Virus Infection
Antonio López-Vázquez,Luis Rodrigo,Jesús Martínez-Borra,Ramón Pérez Pérez,Manuel Rodriguez,Juan Luis Fdez-Morera,Dolores Fuentes,Sandra Rodríguez-Rodero,Segundo Gonzalez,Carlos López-Larrea +9 more
TL;DR: It was found that the human leukocyte antigen-Bw4I80 epitope and the KIR3DS1 gene were more frequent in HCV carriers than in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma.
Journal ArticleDOI
TNF-α −308A promoter polymorphism is associated with enhanced TNF-α production and inflammatory activity in Crohn’s patients with fistulizing disease
Segundo Gonzalez,Luis Rodrigo,Jesús Martínez-Borra,Antonio López-Vázquez,Dolores Fuentes,P. Niño,V. Cadahía,Cristina Saro,M Angeles Dieguez,Carlos López-Larrea +9 more
TL;DR: TNF- alpha -308A polymorphism is associated with enhanced TNF-alpha production, more intense inflammatory activity, and an increased risk for arthritis susceptibility in CD patients with fistulizing disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
High serum tumor necrosis factor-α levels are associated with lack of response to infliximab in fistulizing Crohn’s disease
Jesús Martínez-Borra,Carlos López-Larrea,Segundo Gonzalez,Dolores Fuentes,Angeles Dieguez,Eva M Deschamps,J. M. Pérez-Pariente,Antonio López-Vázquez,Ruth de Francisco,Luis Rodrigo +9 more
TL;DR: The circulating levels of TNF-α are associated with the response to infliximab and could help to identify patients who would benefit from anti-TNF- α treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
The relationship of anti-MICA antibodies and MICA expression with heart allograft rejection.
Beatriz Suarez-Alvarez,Antonio López-Vázquez,M. Zapico Gonzalez,Juan Luis Fdez-Morera,B. Díaz-Molina,Miguel Angel Blanco-Gelaz,D. Pascual,Jesús Martínez-Borra,Manuel Muro,M. R. Álvarez-López,Carlos López-Larrea +10 more
TL;DR: Following transplantation, MICA up‐regulation correlated with histological evidence of severe rejection and monitoring for MICA antibodies post‐transplant may be useful to establish new risk factors for acute rejection.
