Journal ArticleDOI
Bis(2,2′-bipyridine)ruthenium(II)complexes withimidazo[4,5-f ][1,10]-phenanthroline or2-phenylimidazo[4,5-f ][1,10]phenanthroline
TL;DR: In this article, a planar bidentate ligand and two twisted bipy ligands with torsional angles between each bipyridine were used to construct the complex.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interaction of polypyridyl ruthenium(II) complexes containing non-planar ligands with DNA
Ya Xiong,Xiao-feng He,Xiao-Hua Zou,Jian-Zhong Wu,Xiao-Ming Chen,Liang-Nian Ji,Run-Hua Li,Jianying Zhou,Kai-Bei Yu +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the binding properties of the two complexes to calf thymus DNA has been investigated with spectrophotometric methods and viscosity measurements, and the experimental results indicate that the complexes bind to DNA through a partial intercalative mode that is different from the bonding mode for their parent compound, [Ru(bpy)2(PIP)]2+ (PIP=2-phenylimidazo[4,5-f]1,10-phenanthroline).
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis, characterization and luminiscent DNA-binding study of a series of ruthenium complexes containing 2-arylimidazo[f]1,10-phenanthroline
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of different electron donor and acceptor groups on the 1 H NMR, electronic absorption and emission spectra were studied, and it was shown that the addition of calf thymus DNA into the complex solution results in increases for both emissive intensities and excited state lifetimes, and indicates that the electron group on L has no significant effect on the intercalation binding mode between DNA and the complexes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis, structure and DNA-binding studies on the 2-(3-chlorophenyl)imidazo[4,5-f]1,10-phenanthroline-bis(2,2′-bipy ridine)-ruthenium(II) complex
TL;DR: In this article, a polypyridyl ligand and its ruthenium(II) complex, [Ru(bpy)2(MCP)](ClO4)2· 0.5MeCN (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine), have been synthesized and characterized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis, characterization and interaction with DNA of ruthenium(II) mixed-ligand complexes containing pyridino[3,2-f] [1,7]phenanthroline
TL;DR: The c.d. spectra of dialyzates from solutions of racemic complexes versus calf thymus DNA indicate enantioselectivity associated with binding to DNA.
