TL;DR: In this article, fiber Bragg grating-based dispersion compensating modules with continuous response over the full C-band are demonstrated, and group delay characteristics are analyzed and modules are used in 10Gbit/s and 40-Gbps field experiments over 820 km installed fiber.

TL;DR: A 40 Gbit/s transmission experiment on an installed link designed for dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) transmission at 10”Gbit /s, using the alternate-phase return-to-zero (APRZ) modulation format confirms the superior nonlinear tolerance of APRZ, even with typical DWDM filtering.
Abstract: A 40 Gbit/s transmission experiment on an installed link designed for dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) transmission at 10 Gbit/s, using the alternate-phase return-to-zero (APRZ) modulation format is presented. The experiment confirms the superior nonlinear tolerance of APRZ, even with typical DWDM filtering.

TL;DR: In this article, a detailed study on all-optical switching based on one switching pulse edge through cross-phase modulation was carried out, and optical demultiplexing of up to 200 Gb/s data was demonstrated by merely using 11.7 ps asymmetric switching pulses.
