Environmental friendly cutting fluids and cooling techniques in machining: a review

Atmospheric-pressure plasmas (APPs) have attracted great interest and have been widely applied in biomedical applications, as due to their non-thermal and reactive properties, they interact with living tissues, cells and bacteria. Various types of plasma sources generated at atmospheric pressure have been developed to achieve better performance in specific applications. This article presents an overview of the general characteristics of APPs and a brief summary of their biomedical applications, and reviews a wide range of these sources developed for biomedical applications. The plasma sources are classified according to their power sources and cover a wide frequency spectrum from dc to microwaves. The configurations and characteristics of plasma sources are outlined and their biomedical applications are presented.

Atmospheric-pressure plasma sources for biomedical applications

The generalization of the Local Density Approximation (LDA) method for the systems with strong Coulomb correlations is presented which gives a correct description of the Mott insulators. The LDA+U method is based on the model hamiltonian approach and allows to take into account the non-sphericity of the Coulomb and exchange interactions. parameters. Orbital-dependent LDA+U potential gives correct orbital polarization and corresponding Jahn-Teller distortion. To calculate the spectra of the strongly correlated systems the impurity Anderson model should be solved with a many-electron trial wave function. All parameters of the many-electron hamiltonian are taken from LDA+U calculations. The method was applied to NiO and has shown good agreement with experimental photoemission spectra and with the oxygen Kα X-ray emission spectrum.

Aluminum Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs) sought over other conventional materials in the field of aerospace, automotive and marine applications owing to their excellent improved properties. These materials are of much interest to the researchers from few decades. These composites initially replaced Cast Iron and Bronze alloys but owing to their poor wear and seizure resistance, they were subjected to many experiments and the wear behavior of these composites were explored to a maximum extent and were reported by number of research scholars for the past 25 years. In this paper an attempt has been made to consolidate some of the aspects of mechanical and wear behavior of Al-MMCs and the prediction of the Mechanical and Tribological properties of Aluminum MMCs.

Investigation of Flow Control and Cooling Performance Using Comb Plasma Actuators

The invention relates to a Mo-S-Sb-C composite soft coating cutter and a preparation method thereof and belongs to the technical field of mechanical cutting tool manufacturing. The cutter comprises acutter base body, a transition layer and a composite soft coating; and the composite soft coating is composed of MoS2, C and Sb2O3, and the mass ratio of MoS2, to C and to Sb2O3 is 2-5: 0.5-2: 0.5-2.The preparation method is characterized in that firstly, mixed powder of various components of the composite soft coating is made into suspension liquid; and then the transition layer and the composite soft coating are sequentially deposited on the cutter base body through a multi-arc ion plating deposition method, and then the Mo-S-Sb-C composite soft coating cutter can be obtained. According tothe Mo-S-Sb-C composite soft coating cutter and the preparation method thereof, the excellent properties of MoS2, C and Sb2O3 are synthesized, the Mo-S-Sb-C composite soft coating is deposited on thecutter base body through the multi-arc ion plating deposition method, and the coating has the beneficial effects that the binding performance with the cutter base body is good, the friction coefficient is low, and temperature and humidity adaptability is high; and the coating is stable in performance, and free of cracking and falling off in the using process, and the performance of the soft coating cutter is remarkably improved.

Mo-S-Sb-C composite soft coating cutter and preparation method thereof

In this paper, the finite element analysis is made to the modal analysis of the impeller, a finite element model of a impeller with cracks was established. This paper presents results of the modal of the compressor blade subjected to centrifugal force and aerodynamic equilibrium pressure. In this analysis, the numerical models without defects and also with cracks were defined. The simulation results showed that the centrifugal force due to rotational speed can greatly influence the frequency of the impeller. The distribution of two cracked blades effect the natural frequence of the impeller. When two cracked blades locate in the interval position, the increasing value of frequence is maximum. When the two cracked blades interval 150°, the increasing value of frequence is minimum. It provides a basis for modal calculation of the impeller.

The invention relates to a preparation method of a laser assisted electric jet deposition soft and hard composite coating cutter, and belongs to the technical field of mechanical cutting tool manufacturing. Firstly, coating material nanopowder is prepared into suspension liquid; the suspension liquid forms micron order stable jet and nanograde liquid drops in a high-voltage electric field; the liquid drops are jetted and deposited on a cutter base body to from a soft/hard coating; then, the deposition coating is subjected to heat baking treatment; laser is assisted for completing the curing and formation of the coating. The processing formation of the cutter composite coating with the whole integration and the orderly ranged soft and hard coating structure is realized by the method; meanwhile, the process has the advantages of operation convenience, simplicity and short production period.
