Ultrathin NiFe-LDH nanosheets strongly coupled with MOFs-derived hybrid carbon nanoflake arrays as a self-supporting bifunctional electrocatalyst for flexible solid Zn-air batteries

In situ transmogrification is one of the most promising ways to synthesize positrode materials using a chemical treatment approach under optimal conditions for supercapacitor applications. The nickel salt concentration plays a vital role in the complete transmogrification of [email protected] into [email protected] (positrode). Herein, we successfully transform the tetragonal [email protected] structure into pellet-like [email protected] via in situ transmogrification under fixed temperature and pressure. The obtained [email protected] possess a unique porous architecture with a large surface area (74.3 m2g−1), which facilitates ion relocation and electron movement within the materials during charging/discharging. Owing to the limited surface area of electroactive materials, the double transition metal hydroxides ([email protected]) synthesized directly (i.e., by employing two metal salts instantaneously) suffer a rapid decline in capacitance during cyclic stability test. The [email protected] electrode generated from [email protected] has excellent cycling stability with ~86.7% capacitance retention and ~ 91.3% coulombic efficiency after 10,000 cycles at 10 A g−1. It also exhibits a remarkable specific capacitance of 1528 F g−1 at 1 A g−1. Additionally, the asymmetric supercapacitors ([email protected]//Fe2O3/[email protected]) exhibit a maximum energy density of 44.3 Wh kg−1 at a power density of 907 W kg−1). The results of this work suggest the possibility of using MOF-derived nanoporous electrode materials and additional transition metal hydroxides for supercapacitors.

Micro/nanostructured TiO2, ion-doped TiO2, and heterojunction TiO2 composite photocatalysts have low toxicity, high biocompatibility, and high photocatalytic and antibacterial activities and have broad applications in the fields of photocatalytic, antibacterial, and orthopedic implants. The photocatalytic and antibacterial activities of TiO2 and TiO2-based photocatalysts depend on their preparation methods. In this review, the preparation methods of TiO2, ion-doped TiO2, and heterojunction TiO2 composite photocatalysts and their effects on photocatalytic and antibacterial activities were reviewed. Based on the excellent physical and chemical properties of TiO2, ion-doped TiO2, and heterojunction TiO2-based photocatalysts, their applications in the field of orthopedic implants were reviewed. Meanwhile, the development trend of the photocatalyst in the fields of photocatalysis, bacteriostasis, and medicine was prospected. The purpose of this review was to point out the direction for further study on photocatalytic and antibacterial activities and related applications of TiO2 and TiO2-based photocatalysts.
