Rotavirus vaccines: considerations for successful implementation in Europe.
Pierre Van Damme,Marie Van der Wielen,Filippo Ansaldi,Daniel Desgrandchamps,Javier Diez Domingo,Francisco Gimenez Sanchez,Jim Gray,Martin Haditsch,Kari Johansen,Paula Lorgelly,Mathie Lorrot,Nathalie Parez,Volkmar Reschke,Markus A. Rose +13 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that vaccination was the best approach to prevent severe rotavirus gastroenteritis, and that European countries should consider implementing rotav virus vaccination in their routine immunisation programmes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Seroepidemiology of group C rotavirus infection in England and Wales.
TL;DR: Testing for the prevalence of IgG antibodies specifically directed against group C rotavirus VP6 may suggest transmission from animals to humans, however further work is required to identify the reservoir of group Crotavirus for human infection.
Book
Rotaviruses : methods and protocols
Jim Gray,Ulrich Desselberger +1 more
TL;DR: Methods of Rotavirus Detection, Sero- and Genotyping, Sequencing, and Phylogenetic Analysis, Miren Iturriza Gomara, Jon Green, and Jim Gray, and methods of Immunologic Methods and Correlates of Protection, Kristine K. Macartney and Paul A. Offit.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular characterization of G11P[25] and G3P[3] human rotavirus strains associated with asymptomatic infection in South India
Indrani Banerjee,Miren Iturriza-Gomara,Priya Rajendran,Beryl Primrose,Sasirekha Ramani,Jim Gray,David Brown,Gagandeep Kang +7 more
TL;DR: Both strains had gene segments of animal rotav virus origin suggesting inter‐species transmission of rotavirus, and in the case of G11P[25] possibly underwent reassortment subsequently with human strains resulting in an animal–human hybrid strain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Vomiting calls to NHS Direct provide an early warning of norovirus outbreaks in hospitals
P Loveridge,Duncan Cooper,Alex J. Elliot,John P. Harris,Jim Gray,S. Large,Meredith M. Regan,Gillian Smith,Ben Lopman +8 more
