Journal ArticleDOI

Combustion characteristics of a direct-injection engine fueled with natural gas–hydrogen blends under different ignition timings

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the combustion characteristics of a direct-injection spark-ignited engine fueled with natural gas-hydrogen blends under various ignition timings and lean mixture condition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurement of laminar burning velocity of dimethyl ether–air premixed mixtures

TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured laminar burning velocity of dimethyl ether-air mixtures under different initial pressures and equivalence ratios using a constant volume bomb and high-speed schlieren photography.
Journal ArticleDOI

Combustion Characteristics of a Direct-Injection Engine Fueled with Natural Gas−Hydrogen Mixtures

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors experimentally studied combustion characteristics of a direct-injection spark-ignited engine fueled with natural gas-hydrogen blends, and they found that the heat release rate decreases with the increase of hydrogen fraction in the blends when hydrogen fraction is less than a certain volumetric fraction while the heat releases rate increases with an increase of the hydrogen fraction when the fraction is over a certain value, indicating that only when the hydrogen fractions in natural gas reaches a certain fraction can a large improvement in combustion be realized.
Journal ArticleDOI

Combustion Characteristics of a Direct-Injection Engine Fueled with Natural Gas-Hydrogen Blends under Various Injection Timings

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the performance of a direct-injection engine fueled with natural gas−hydrogen blends at fixed injection duration and fixed ignition timing and found that early injection decreases the excessive-air ratio and makes leaner mixtures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of ignition timing and hydrogen fraction on combustion and emission characteristics of natural gas direct-injection engine

TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental study on the combustion and emission characteristics of a direct-injection spark-ignited engine fueled with natural gas/hydrogen blends under various ignition timings was conducted.
