Escherichia coli Bloodstream Infections in Patients at a University Hospital: Virulence Factors and Clinical Characteristics

TL;DR: E. coli isolated from the bloodstreams of patients at the University Hospital in Brazil showed a high prevalence for the siderophore yersiniabactina (fyuA) and PAI IV536 and was the phylogroup that had a higher prevalence of VFs and PAIs; however, in this study, a considerable number of isolated bacteria were classified as group E.
Journal ArticleDOI

Exposure to aluminium chloride during the peripuberal period induces prostate damage in male rats.

TL;DR: In this paper , exposure to aluminium chloride during the peripubertal period affects ventral prostate development in rats, and there was no significant difference in prostate weight, number of granulated or degranulated mast cells, or testosterone levels.
Journal ArticleDOI

MDR Escherichia coli carrying CTX-M-24 (IncF[F-:A1:B32]) and KPC-2 (IncX3/IncU) plasmids isolated from community-acquired urinary trainfection in Brazil

TL;DR: In this paper , a genomic surveillance study where multidrug-resistant E. coli containing CTX-M-24(IncF [F-:A1:B32]) and KPC-2(IncX3/IncU) plasmids were obtained from community-acquired urinary tract infection in Brazil.
Posted ContentDOI

Genomic insights of high-risk clones of ESBL-producing Escherichia coli isolated from community infections and commercial meat in Southern Brazil

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the molecular epidemiology of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Escherichia coli from community-acquired urinary tract infections (UTI) and commercial meat samples, in a Brazilian city with a high occurrence of infections by ESBL-producing bacteria.

Characteristics of Urinary Tract Infections Caused by Escherichia Coli Isolated from Community Patients in Londrina, Paraná, Brazil, From June 2016 to May 2019

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors present a survey that allows the trace of the epidemiological profile over the studied period in relation to the community UTI at Londrina city, Paraná, Brazil.
