Journal ArticleDOI
An entirely subcutaneous implantable cardioverter–defibrillator.
Gust H. Bardy,Warren Smith,Margaret Hood,Ian Crozier,Iain Melton,Luc Jordaens,Dominic A.M.J. Theuns,Robert E. Park,David Wright,Derek T. Connelly,Simon P. Fynn,Francis Murgatroyd,Johannes Sperzel,Joerg Neuzner,Stefan G. Spitzer,Ardashev Av,A. Oduro,Lucas V.A. Boersma,Alexander H. Maass,Isabelle C. Van Gelder,Arthur A.M. Wilde,Pascal F.H.M. van Dessel,Reinoud E. Knops,Craig S. Barr,Pierpaolo Lupo,Riccardo Cappato,Andrew A. Grace +26 more
TL;DR: In small, nonrandomized studies, an entirely subcutaneous ICD consistently detected and converted ventricular fibrillation induced during electrophysiological testing and successfully detected and treated all 12 episodes of spontaneous, sustained ventricular tachyarrhythmia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Permanent leadless cardiac pacing: results of the LEADLESS trial.
Vivek Y. Reddy,Reinoud E. Knops,Johannes Sperzel,Marc A. Miller,Jan Petru,Jaroslav Simon,Lucie Sediva,Joris R. de Groot,Fleur V.Y. Tjong,Peter Jacobson,Alan Ostrosff,Srinivas R. Dukkipati,Jacob S. Koruth,Arthur A.M. Wilde,Josef Kautzner,Petr Neuzil +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors tested the safety and clinical performance of a completely self-contained leadless cardiac pacemaker and found that the implant success rate was 97% (n=32).
Book ChapterDOI
Leitlinien zur implantation von defibrillatoren
Werner Jung,Dietrich Andresen,Michael Block,Dirk Böcker,Stefan H. Hohnloser,Karl-Heinz Kuck,Johannes Sperzel +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the vorliegenden Leitlinien zur Implantation von Defibrillatoren wurden in Uberarbeitung der Deutschen Gesellschaft fur Kardiologie, Herz and Kreislaufforschung, erstellt, basierend auf einer sorgfaltigen Analyse der wissenschaftlichen Daten zur aktuellen Therapie ventrikularer Tachyarrhythmien.
Journal ArticleDOI
Do gender differences exist in pacemaker implantation?--results of an obligatory external quality control program.
Bernd Nowak,Björn Misselwitz,A. Erdogan,R. Funck,W. Irnich,Carsten W. Israel,H.-G. Olbrich,H. Schmidt,Johannes Sperzel,M. Zegelman +9 more
TL;DR: This large-scale real-life patient cohort of primary stationary pacemaker implantation showed that gender has an impact onto pacemaker implants, with less favourable outcomes for women.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electrocardiographic and further predictors for permanent pacemaker requirement after transcatheter aortic valve implantation
Damir Erkapic,Won K. Kim,Marc Weber,Helge Möllmann,Alexander Berkowitsch,Sergey Zaltsberg,Dmitri Pajitnev,Johannes Rixe,Thomas Neumann,Malte Kuniss,Johannes Sperzel,Christian W. Hamm,Heinz F. Pitschner +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identify electrocardiographic (ECG) and further predictors for atrioventricular (AV) block with a need for pacemaker implantation after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).
