Phase i clinical trial of a world health organisation birth control vaccine

TL;DR: A birth control vaccine incorporating a synthetic peptide antigen representing the aminoacid sequence 109-145 of the C-terminal region of the beta subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG-beta) gave promise of a contraceptive effect of six months' duration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Decreased cyclic AMP in the epidermis of lesions of psoriasis.

TL;DR: In this paper, a statistically significant decrease in cyclic AMP was found in involved psoriatic epidermis when compared with uninvolved psoriasis and control epidermi.
Journal ArticleDOI

Use of a synthetic peptide adjuvant for the immunization of baboons with denatured and deglycosylated pig zona pellucida glycoproteins

TL;DR: In this paper, pigs were immunized using a synthetic peptide adjuvant with two purified pig zonapellucida glycoproteins and the immunogenicity as well as the antigenicity of these proteins were evaluated by characterizing antibodies using the enzyme-linked immunoassay and by immunoblotting of zona pellucid proteins separated by high-resolution two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Beta adrenergic stimulation of endogenous epidermal cyclic AMP formation.

TL;DR: Sutherland's first criterion of a cyclic AMP mediated event appears to have been satisfied in that isoproterenol (1 × 10-6M) produced a threefold increase in the power of adenosine 3′,5′-monophosphate.
