Guidelines for Acquisition, Interpretation, and Reporting of Whole-Body MRI in Myeloma: Myeloma Response Assessment and Diagnosis System (MY-RADS)
Christina Messiou,Jens Hillengass,Stefan Delorme,Frédéric Lecouvet,Lia A. Moulopoulos,David J. Collins,Matthew D. Blackledge,Niels Abildgaard,Brian Østergaard,Heinz Peter Schlemmer,Ola Landgren,Jon Thor Asmussen,Martin Kaiser,Anwar R. Padhani +13 more
TL;DR: The Myeloma Response Assessment and Diagnosis System (or MY-RADS) imaging recommendations are designed to promote standardization and diminish variations in the acquisition, interpretation, and reporting of whole-body MRI in myeloma and allow response assessment.
Journal ArticleDOI
MRI, PET/CT and ultrasound in the preoperative staging of endometrial cancer - a multicenter prospective comparative study.
Sofie Leisby Antonsen,Lisa Neerup Jensen,Annika Loft,Anne Kiil Berthelsen,Junia Costa,Ann Tabor,Ann Tabor,I. Qvist,Mette Rodi Hansen,Rune Vincents Fisker,Erik Søgaard Andersen,Lene Sperling,Anne Lerberg Nielsen,Jon Thor Asmussen,Estrid Høgdall,Carsten Lindberg Fagö-Olsen,Ib Jarle Christensen,Lotte Nedergaard,Kirsten Marie Jochumsen,Claus Høgdall +19 more
TL;DR: None of the modalities can yet replace surgical staging, however, they all contributed to important knowledge and were able to upstage low-risk patients who would not have been recommended lymph node resection based on histology and grade alone.
Journal ArticleDOI
Head-to-Head Comparison of Chest X-Ray/Head and Neck MRI, Chest CT/Head and Neck MRI, and 18 F-FDG PET/CT for Detection of Distant Metastases and Synchronous Cancer in Oral, Pharyngeal, and Laryngeal Cancer
Max Rohde,Anne Lerberg Nielsen,Jørgen Johansen,Jens Ahm Sørensen,Nina N. T. T. Nguyen,Anabel Diaz,Mie K. Nielsen,Jon Thor Asmussen,Janus Mølgaard Christiansen,Oke Gerke,Oke Gerke,Anders Thomassen,Abass Alavi,Poul Flemming Høilund-Carlsen,Christian Godballe +14 more
TL;DR: A clinical imaging strategy based on PET/CT demonstrated a significantly higher detection rate of distant metastasis or synchronous cancer than strategies in current clinical imaging guidelines, of which European ones primarily recommend CXR/MRI, whereas U.S. guidelines preferably point to CHCT/MRI in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
Journal ArticleDOI
SUVmax of 18FDG PET/CT as a predictor of high-risk endometrial cancer patients
Sofie Leisby Antonsen,Annika Loft,Rune Vincents Fisker,Anne Lerberg Nielsen,Erik Søgaard Andersen,Estrid Høgdall,Ann Tabor,Ann Tabor,Kirsten Marie Jochumsen,Carsten Lindberg Fagö-Olsen,Jon Thor Asmussen,Anne Kiil Berthelsen,Ib Jarle Christensen,Claus Høgdall +13 more
TL;DR: The sensitivity and specificity of the SUVmax in staging endometrial cancer is not high enough to reliably replace surgical staging, and preoperative PET/CT scanning and SUVmax measurements of the primary tumour may provide additional clinical and prognostic information about myometrial invasion, CI, LNM and high risk disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multiple Myeloma Associated Bone Disease
Stine Rasch,Thomas Lund,Thomas Lund,Jon Thor Asmussen,Anne Lerberg Nielsen,Rikke Faebo Larsen,Mikkel Østerheden Andersen,Niels Abildgaard,Niels Abildgaard +8 more
TL;DR: For diagnosing MBD, low-dose whole-body CT is now recommended over conventional skeletal survey, but also more advanced functional imaging modalities, such as diffusion-weighted MRI and PET/CT are increasingly important in the assessment and monitoring of MBD.
