Journal ArticleDOI
Demonstration of allelic exchange in the slow-growing bacterium Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis, and generation of mutants with deletions at the pknG, relA, and lsr2 loci.
Kun Taek Park,John L. Dahl,John P. Bannantine,Raúl G. Barletta,Jongsam Ahn,Andrew J. Allen,Mary Jo Hamilton,William C. Davis +7 more
TL;DR: The improved efficiency of disruption of selected genes in M. avium subsp.
Journal ArticleDOI
Use of rMPB70 Protein and ESAT-6 Peptide as Antigens for Comparison of the Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent, Immunochromatographic, and Latex Bead Agglutination Assays for Serodiagnosis of Bovine Tuberculosis
Hye Cheong Koo,Yong Ho Park,Jongsam Ahn,W. Ray Waters,Mitch V. Palmer,Mary Jo Hamilton,George M. Barrington,Abdelaziz A. Mosaad,Kun Taek Park,Woo Kyung Jung,In Yeong Hwang,Sang Nae Cho,Sang Jae Shin,William C. Davis +13 more
TL;DR: Examination of serial samples of sera collected from experimentally M. bovis-infected cattle and deer revealed that ESAT6-p-specific responses developed early after infection whereas responses to rMPB70 developed later in the course of disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
The use of crossreactive monoclonal antibodies to characterize the immune system of the water buffalo (Bubalus bubalis).
TL;DR: A large set of mAbs that recognize bovine MHC class I and II molecules and leukocyte differentiation molecules were screened and one hundred thirty eight were found that recognize conserved determinants on orthologous molecules.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of the seroprevalence of bovine paratuberculosis and the application of modified absorbed ELISA to field sample testing in Korea
Kun Taek Park,Jongsam Ahn,William C. Davis,Hye Cheong Koo,Nam Hoon Kwon,Woo Kyung Jung,Jun Man Kim,Soon Keun Hong,Yong Ho Park +8 more
TL;DR: The findings suggest that a control program should be implemented to limit the spread of this disease, and that P-ELISA could be used as a screening test that produces results similar to C- ELISA.
Journal ArticleDOI
New Latex Bead Agglutination Assay for Differential Diagnosis of Cattle Infected with Mycobacterium bovis and Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis
Hye Cheong Koo,Yong Ho Park,Jongsam Ahn,W. Ray Waters,Mary Jo Hamilton,George M. Barrington,Abdelaziz A. Mosaad,Mitch V. Palmer,Sang Shin,William C. Davis +9 more
TL;DR: LBAA using the ESAT6-p can be a rapid and useful M. bovis diagnostic assay and the data suggest that rapid, sensitive, and specific assays can be developed with peptides containing immunodominant epitopes present in proteins uniquely expressed in M. paratuberculosis.
