Journal ArticleDOI

Encapsulation of Single Plasmonic Nanoparticles within ZIF-8 and SERS Analysis of the MOF Flexibility

TL;DR: The results demonstrate that even molecules larger than the ZIF-8 aperture and pore size may be able to diffuse through the framework and reach the metal core, and lead to enhanced stability and selectivity in applications such as sensing or catalysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of silver ions on the growth mode of platinum on gold nanorods

TL;DR: Gold nanorods were used as seeds for platinum growth, using a mild reducing agent, ascorbic acid, in the presence of the cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB).
Journal ArticleDOI

Metal Nanoparticles and Supramolecular Macrocycles: A Tale of Synergy

TL;DR: This minireview intended to select relevant publications on the synthesis of noble-metal nanoparticles with macrocycles acting as capping agents or/and reducing agents, as well as on the post-synthetic metal-nanoparticle modification with macro cycles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multiresponsive Hybrid Colloids Based on Gold Nanorods and Poly(NIPAM-co-allylacetic acid) Microgels: Temperature- and pH-Tunable Plasmon Resonance

TL;DR: It is shown that the collapse of the microgel core, induced by changes in either temperature or pH, enhances the electronic interactions between the gold nanorods on the gel surface, as a result of the subsequent increase of the packing density arising from the surface decrease of the collapsed microgel.
