Journal ArticleDOI
Micro- and nanoparticles by electrospray: advances and applications in foods.
José Agustín Tapia-Hernández,Patricia Isabel Torres-Chávez,Benjamín Ramírez-Wong,Agustín Rascón-Chu,Maribel Plascencia-Jatomea,Carlos Gregorio Barreras-Urbina,Norma A. Rangel-Vázquez,Francisco Rodríguez-Félix +7 more
TL;DR: The electrospray technique compared to conventional techniques such as nanoprecipitation, emulsion-diffusion, double-emulsification, and layer by layer provides greater advantages to develop micro- and nanoparticles because it is simple, low cost, uses a low amount of solvents, and products are obtained in one step.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nano- and Micro-Particles by Nanoprecipitation: Possible Application in the Food and Agricultural Industries
Carlos Gregorio Bareras-Urbina,Benjamín Ramírez-Wong,Guadalupe Amanda López-Ahumada,S. E. Burruel-Ibarra,Oliviert Martínez-Cruz,José Agustín Tapia-Hernández,Francisco Rodríguez Félix +6 more
TL;DR: An overview of the nanoprecipitation method, its advantages, and the potential applications in the food and agricultural industries for improving the quality of food products is presented in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI
Zein-polysaccharide nanoparticles as matrices for antioxidant compounds: A strategy for prevention of chronic degenerative diseases.
José Agustín Tapia-Hernández,Francisco Rodríguez-Félix,Josué Elías Juárez-Onofre,Saúl Ruiz-Cruz,Miguel Angel Robles-García,Jesús Borboa-Flores,Francisco Javier Wong-Corral,Francisco J. Cinco-Moroyoqui,Daniela Denisse Castro-Enríquez,Carmen Lizette Del-Toro-Sánchez +9 more
TL;DR: This review discusses OS as a source of CDD, the role of antioxidants in the prevention of these diseases, and the preparation, characterization, and application of antioxidant-zein-polysaccharide particles as delivery systems as well as possible mechanisms to control CDD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preparation and Characterization of Quercetin-Loaded Zein Nanoparticles by Electrospraying and Study of In Vitro Bioavailability.
Francisco Rodríguez-Félix,Carmen Lizette Del-Toro-Sánchez,Francisco J. Cinco-Moroyoqui,Josué Juárez,Saúl Ruiz-Cruz,Guadalupe Amanda López-Ahumada,Elizabeth Carvajal-Millan,Daniela Denisse Castro-Enríquez,Carlos Gregorio Barreras-Urbina,José Agustín Tapia-Hernández +9 more
TL;DR: It is concluded, that the electrospraying technique made possible the obtention of quercitin-loaded zein nanoparticles increasing their bioavailability and can be used to decrease the prevalence of chronic degenerative diseases by increasing of the bioavailability ofQuercetin in the bloodstream.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gallic Acid‐Loaded Zein Nanoparticles by Electrospraying Process
José Agustín Tapia-Hernández,Carmen Lizette Del-Toro-Sánchez,Francisco J. Cinco-Moroyoqui,Saúl Ruiz-Cruz,Josué Juárez,Daniela Denisse Castro-Enríquez,Carlos Gregorio Barreras-Urbina,Guadalupe Amanda López-Ahumada,Francisco Rodríguez-Félix +8 more
TL;DR: The electrospraying process is a feasible technique for obtaining gallic acid-loaded zein nanoparticles and providing potential protection togallic acid from environmental factors.
