Journal ArticleDOI
Wavelet time-frequency analysis and least squares support vector machines for the identification of voice disorders
Everthon Silva Fonseca,Rodrigo Capobianco Guido,Paulo Rogério Scalassara,Carlos Dias Maciel,José Carlos Pereira +4 more
TL;DR: This work describes a novel algorithm to identify laryngeal pathologies, by the digital analysis of the voice, based on Daubechies' discrete wavelet transform, linear prediction coefficients, and least squares support vector machines.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of Protease Inhibitors on Dentin Matrix Degradation by Collagenase
Melissa Thiemi Kato,Aline de Lima Leite,A. R. Hannas,Marcela Pagani Calabria,Ana Carolina Magalhães,José Carlos Pereira,Marília Afonso Rabelo Buzalaf +6 more
TL;DR: The results strongly suggest that the preventive effects of the PI tested against dentin erosion are due to their ability to reduce the degradation of the DOM.
Journal ArticleDOI
Normatização de medidas acústicas da voz normal
TL;DR: In this article, a study of the normal voice of male and female brazilians was carried out in the Otorlaryngological Clinic of the Clinical Hospital of the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirao Preto of the University of Sao Paulo.
Journal ArticleDOI
Properties of dental resins submitted to pH catalysed hydrolysis
TL;DR: Hydlytic degradation of resin composites seems to begin with the silanized inorganic particles and therefore depend on their composition, and alkaline medium appears to be more suitable than acidic medium.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of iron on matrix metalloproteinase inhibition and on the prevention of dentine erosion.
Melissa Thiemi Kato,Aline de Lima Leite,A. R. Hannas,Rodrigo Cardoso de Oliveira,José Carlos Pereira,Leo Tjäderhane,Marília Afonso Rabelo Buzalaf +6 more
TL;DR: FeSO4 was able to inhibit MMP in vitro and it is possible that the prevention of dentine wear by the FeSO4 gel in situ might be due to MMP inhibition, which should be investigated in further studies.
