Journal ArticleDOI

Concentrated red grape juice exerts antioxidant, hypolipidemic, and antiinflammatory effects in both hemodialysis patients and healthy subjects

TL;DR: Dietary supplementation with concentrated RGJ improves the lipoprotein profile, reduces plasma concentrations of inflammatory biomarkers and oxidized LDL, and may favor a reduction in cardiovascular disease risk.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prognosis of acute tubular necrosis: an extended prospectively contrasted study.

TL;DR: The multiple linear was better than the logistic regression model in terms of better correlation with real mortality, better sensitivity and specificity intervals, easier use of discriminant cut-off point and better adjustment of distribution of standardized residuals to expected normal function.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparative effects of dietary supplementation with red grape juice and vitamin E on production of superoxide by circulating neutrophil NADPH oxidase in hemodialysis patients

TL;DR: Regular ingestion of concentrated RGJ by hemodialysis patients reduces neutrophil NADPH-oxidase activity and plasma concentrations of oxidized LDL and inflammatory biomarkers to a greater extent than does that of vitamin E, which may favor a reduction in cardiovascular risk.
Journal Article

Regression of left ventricular hypertrophy after partial correction of anemia with erythropoietin in patients on hemodialysis: a prospective study.

TL;DR: It is concluded that left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) regression is obtained after partial correction of anemia with rhEPO, and previous hypertension with current need of antihypertensive treatment has also a significant effect in the development of LVH.
Journal ArticleDOI

The impact of malnutrition in morbidity and mortality in stable haemodialysis patients. Spanish Cooperative Study of Nutrition in Hemodialysis.

TL;DR: The prevalence and severity of malnutrition in 761 stable patients from 20 haemodialysis centres and its influence in morbidity and mortality after one year of follow-up were ascertained.
