Journal ArticleDOI

Marijuana use and long-term mortality among survivors of acute myocardial infarction.

TL;DR: Hitual marijuana use among patients presenting with acute MI was associated with an apparent increased mortality rate over the following 18 years that did not reach nominal statistical significance, and larger studies with repeated measures of marijuana use are needed to definitively establish whether there are adverse cardiovascular consequences of smoking marijuana among patients with established coronary heart disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

New labor management guidelines and changes in cesarean delivery patterns

TL;DR: Despite significant changes in labor management that have occurred over the initial years since publication of the new labor curves and associated guidelines, the primary cesarean delivery rate was not reduced and there has been an increase in maternal and neonatal morbidity in the authors' institution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Residential Proximity to Major Roadway and 10-Year All-Cause Mortality After Myocardial Infarction

TL;DR: In this multicenter study, living close to a major roadway at the time of AMI was associated with increased risk of all-cause 10-year mortality; this relationship persisted after adjustment for individual and neighborhood-level covariates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Coronavirus disease 2019 infection and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors found that early COVID-19 infection is associated with an increased risk of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) and examined the association between the gestational age at COVID19 infection and delivery and HDP risk.
Journal ArticleDOI

Self-reported anxiety and the risk of clinical events and atherosclerotic progression among patients with Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts (CABG).

TL;DR: Anxiety symptoms are associated with increased risk of death or MI among patients with saphenous vein grafts, but this risk does not appear to be mediated by more extensive atherosclerotic progression.
