Numerical optimisation of conjugate Hexagonal cooling channels with internal heat generation using Al2O3-water nanofluid

TL;DR: Olakoyejo et al. as mentioned in this paper have acknowledged and duly appreciated the funding obtained from NRF, TESP, Stellenbosch University / University of Pretoria, SANERI/SANEDI, CSIR, and NAC.

Temperature variation on the heated base of a solid substrate cooled with different types of heat sink

TL;DR: In this article, three-dimensional numerical studies were carried out to investigate forced convection heat transfer and fluid flow in a solid substrate cooled using different types of micro heat sinks, and the thermal performance of the heat sinks considered in this study is based on two objectives namely, the minimisation of the peak temperature which results in maximisation of thermal conductance and the lowest temperature variation on the heated base.

Receiver optimization for an etendue conserving compact linear fresnel

TL;DR: In this paper, an optimization study was conducted on the internal geometry of a receiver paired with an enhanced mirror field, which included a parabolic secondary concentrator at the back of the receiver in order to reflect any missed rays.

Three-dimensional particle image velocimetry in a generic can-type gas

TL;DR: In this paper, the 3D flow field inside a generic can-type, forward flow, experimental combustor was measured using a stereoscopic Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) system.
