3-D CFD Modeling of a Slanted Receiver in a Compact Linear Fresnel Plant with Etendue-Matched Mirror Field

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of different mirror fields on the amount of radiation transferred to the collector pipes was studied using the Matlab toolset and the commercial software package ANSYS Fluent v15.0.
Journal ArticleDOI

Machine learning classification of in-tube condensation flow patterns using visualization

TL;DR: This paper shows that with visualization data and artificial neural networks, the flow pattern images of condensation of R-134a refrigerant in inclined smooth tubes can be classified with more than 98% accuracy and enable real-time implementation in two-phase flow systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

A cut‐cell non‐conforming Cartesian mesh method for compressible and incompressible flow

TL;DR: This paper details a multigrid‐accelerated cut‐cell non‐conforming Cartesian mesh methodology for the modelling of inviscid compressible and incompressible flow via a single equation set that describes sub‐, trans‐, and supersonic flows.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chaotic and Periodic Natural Convection for Moderate and High Prandtl Numbers in a Porous Layer subject to Vibrations

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the significance of including a time derivative term in Darcy's equation when wave phenomena are being considered and reported results related to the route to chaos for moderate and high Prandtl number convection.
