Journal ArticleDOI
Arterial stiffness in acute COVID-19 and potential associations with clinical outcome.
Sebastian Schnaubelt,Julia Oppenauer,Daniel Tihanyi,Markus Mueller,Eduardo Maldonado‐Gonzalez,Sara Zejnilovic,Helmuth Haslacher,Thomas Perkmann,Robert Strassl,Sonja Anders,Thomas Stefenelli,Sonja Zehetmayer,Renate Koppensteiner,Hans Domanovits,Oliver Schlager +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a case-control study compared brachial-ankle pulse wave (baPWV) and carotid-femoral pulse wave velocities of acutely ill patients with and without COVID-19.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Incidences of Atrial Fibrillation and Electrical Cardioversion at a Tertiary Care Emergency Department: An Inter- and Intra-year Analysis
Sebastian Schnaubelt,Hans Domanovits,Jan Niederdoeckl,Nikola Schuetz,Filippo Cacioppo,Julia Oppenauer,Alexander O. Spiel,Anton N. Laggner +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors found no significant differences in inter-year analyses of the time periods from January to May, or of the weeks pre- and post the national lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association of Intravenous Potassium and Magnesium Administration With Spontaneous Conversion of Atrial Fibrillation and Atrial Flutter in the Emergency Department
Filippo Cacioppo,Denise Reisenbauer,Harald Herkner,Julia Oppenauer,Nikola Schuetz,Jan Niederdoeckl,Sebastian Schnaubelt,Sophie Gupta,Martin Lutnik,Alexander Simon,Alexander O. Spiel,Nina Buchtele,Hans Domanovits,Anton N. Laggner,Michael Schwameis +14 more
TL;DR: The findings of this registry-based cohort study on intravenous administration of potassium and magnesium suggest an increased probability of SCV in nonpermanent AF, but not AFL, during a patients' stay in the emergency department.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hypothermia for neuroprotection in adults after cardiac arrest.
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors evaluated the benefits and harms of therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest in adults compared to standard treatment and found that participants in the treatment group were more likely to reach a favorable neurological outcome (RR 1.60, 95% CI 1.15 to 2.23).
Journal ArticleDOI
The Feasibility of Ultra-Sensitive Phonocardiography in Acute Chest Pain Patients of a Tertiary Care Emergency Department (ScorED Feasibility Study)
Sebastian Schnaubelt,Felix Eibensteiner,Julia Oppenauer,Andrea Kornfehl,Roman Brock,Laura Poschenreithner,Na Du,Enrico Baldi,Oliver Schlager,Alexander Niessner,Hans Domanovits,Dominik Roth,Patrick Sulzgruber +12 more
TL;DR: Ultra-sensitive phonocardiography was found to be feasible in acute chest pain patients presenting to a tertiary ED, and the CAD score measured during routine waiting times could potentially serve as an additional tool in a diagnostic pathway for thoracic pain.
