Journal ArticleDOI

Characteristics, sources, water quality and health risk assessment of trace elements in river water and well water in the Chinese Loess Plateau.

TL;DR: The results of this study can provide the basic data for efficient water management and human health protection in CLP.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hydrochemical characteristics, controlling factors and solute sources of groundwater within the Tarim River Basin in the extreme arid region, NW Tibetan Plateau

TL;DR: In this article, major ion concentrations of groundwater were analyzed to decipher hydrochemistry, temporal and spatial variations, solute sources, and controlling factors of the groundwater within the Tarim River Basin (TRB).
Journal ArticleDOI

Geochemistry of trace elements and water quality assessment of natural water within the Tarim River Basin in the extreme arid region, NW China

TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured twenty-one trace elements in 57 river and 20 well water samples collected in 2011 to define the spatial variability, sources, and the quality of natural water within the Tarim River Basin (TRB), one of the driest arid zones on the earth.
Journal ArticleDOI

Elucidating the differentiation of soil heavy metals under different land uses with geographically weighted regression and self-organizing map.

TL;DR: Spatial interpolation, geographically weighted regression (GWR) and self-organizing map (SOM) were used to discern how variations in the spatial distributions of soil heavy metals were caused by human activities for different land uses, and how these pollutants contributed to environmental risks.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geochemical controls on fluoride concentrations in natural waters from the middle Loess Plateau, China

TL;DR: In this paper, the spatial variability of fluoride (F−) and its geochemical control with other dissolved ions in the middle Loess Plateau were discussed, and the chemical data analyzed in the principal component analysis (PCA) also indicated that climate coupled with geochemical processes was the main controlling factor for high F− in natural waters in the area.
