Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanical and electrical properties of carbon fiber composites with incorporation of graphene nanoplatelets at the fiber–matrix interphase
TL;DR: In this article, carbon fibers were coated with graphene nanoplatelets (GnP) using a robust and continuous coating process, and the results showed an increase in mechanical properties and electrical conductivity of the composites.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bio-based epoxy vitrimers: Reprocessibility, controllable shape memory, and degradability
TL;DR: In this article, a bio-based vitrimer constructed from isosorbide-derived epoxy and aromatic diamines containing disulfide bonds was reported, and the resulting dynamic epoxy resins showed comparable thermomechanical properties as compared to similar epoxy networks cured by traditional curing agent.
Journal ArticleDOI
Study on the breaking strength of jute fibres using modified Weibull distribution
TL;DR: In this article, the diameter variation of jute fibres was measured with an optical microscope and the strength predicted by modified Weibull distribution was more accurate than that of the two conventional models.
Journal ArticleDOI
Polydopamine particles for next-generation multifunctional biocomposites
TL;DR: In this article, polydopamine particles (PDAPs) have been reported as a filler for constructing polymer composites and it was found that the PDAPs could promote the crystallization of PVA and thus, greatly improve the mechanical properties of the composites.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tuning the interface of graphene platelets/epoxy composites by the covalent grafting of polybenzimidazole
TL;DR: In this paper, a facile one-pot strategy for covalent functionalization of graphene platelets (GnPs) by polybenzimidazole, and the fabrication of their composites with epoxy resin was reported.
