Advanced liquid crystal devices for augmented reality and virtual reality displays: principles and applications

TL;DR: In this paper , the operation principles, potential applications, and future challenges of these advanced liquid crystal displays are discussed, as well as their operation principles and potential applications for augmented reality and virtual reality.
Journal ArticleDOI

Practical Chromatic Aberration Correction in Virtual Reality Displays Enabled by Cost-Effective Ultra-Broadband Liquid Crystal Polymer Lenses

TL;DR: In this paper, a Pancharatnam-Berry phase lens (PBL) with complex axial molecular structure is fabricated and then hybridized with a refractive Fresnel lens, and a broadband circular polarizer is implemented to eliminate ghost image from the zero-order leakage of PBL.
