A modified version of pulse width modulation type of analog multiplier is described. A sawtooth wave of period T whose peak value is proportional to one input voltage is sampled by a sampling pulse whose position over the period T is proportional to another input voltage. The sampled output voltage is proportional to the product of the two input voltages. The circuit enables multiplication of a dc voltage with another dc voltage. The constant of multiplication is dependent upon a third dc voltage and a pair of resistors and capacitors. Employing a precision source for the third dc voltage and matched resistors and capacitors, an acceptable level of accuracy can be obtained in the multiplication.

A Pulse Position Sampled Multiplier

A CMOS vector summation circuit using the square-law characteristic of MOS transistors in saturation is presented. This circuit is widely used in communication, in order to analyze and processing the signal. The previous papers proposed to use the translinear of bipolar transistor, operational amplifier or current conveyor. The paper proposes to design the vector summation circuit by using MOS transistors and suitable for integrated circuit.

A CMOS Square-Law Vector Summation circuit

A novel type of analogue multiplier-cum-divider is described. A square waveform of period T which is proportional to V 2/V 1, where V 2 and V 1 are the two input applied voltages, is generated. Four-Quadrant Time-Division Multiplier without Using Any Reference Clock

The following novel techniques for analog multiplication using operational amplifiers are proposed in this paper. (1) Sigma delta multiplier, (2) sigma integrated multiplier, (3) sigma single slope multiplier, and (4) sigma sampled multiplier. In all the above four techniques, the constant of multiplication is dependent upon two reference voltages. Employing precision sources for the reference voltages, one can achieve an acceptable level of accuracy. Verification of the feasibility of the circuit configurations are established by way of test results on a proto type.

A circuit that accepts two input dc voltages V1 and V2 and provides output dc voltage by using three triangular wave-referenced time division multipliers is described in this paper. One input voltage is given to one multiplier and the other input voltage is given to another multiplier. Both multipliers are configured to work as squarer. The squared voltages are added and given to non-inverting input of an op-amp OA. The third multiplier which is also configured as a squarer is given at the negative feedback path of the op-amp OA. The op-amp OA output is the output voltage VO. The conventional multipliers used are the author's triangular wave-referenced time division multipliers. Verification of the feasibility of the circuit is established by way of test results on a prototype.
