High corrosion resistant Ti–5%Ta–1.8%Nb alloy for fuel reprocessing application

TL;DR: In this paper, the Ti-5%Ta-1.8%Nb alloy was evaluated as a candidate material for such applications of nuclear fuel reprocessing and extensive tests were carried out to establish the superior corrosion properties in comparison to the conventional stainless steel or nitric acid grade stainless steel.
Journal ArticleDOI

X-ray diffraction line profile analysis for defect study in Cu-1 wt.% Cr-0.1 wt.% Zr alloy

TL;DR: In this paper, an X-ray line profile analysis (LPA) has been used for microstructural analysis of a Cu-1 wt.% Cr-0.1.% Zr alloy and it is observed that there is an increase in the stacking fault probability and corresponding decrease in stacking fault energy in case of the alloy.
Journal ArticleDOI

X-ray diffraction line profile analysis for defect study in Zr-2.5% Nb material

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented the X-ray diffraction peaks shape analysis and their broadening with different thermal treatments in Zr -2·5% Nb pressure tube material and the peak shape was analyzed using Fourier transformation and information about coherent domain size, micro-strain and dislocation density could be obtained from the Fourier coefficients of the peak.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fracture properties of sintered UO2 ceramic pellets with duplex microstructure

TL;DR: In this article, the fracture behavior of sintered ceramic UO2 material is studied in light of microstructural (grain size and porosity) parameters using Vicker's indentation technique.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study on solid solubility of Gd in UO2 using X-ray diffraction

TL;DR: The change in solid solubility of Gd after sintering of UO 2 with Gd additions has been explained based on the X-ray diffraction study.
