A crucial review on polycyclic aromatic Hydrocarbons - Environmental occurrence and strategies for microbial degradation.
N. Premnath,K. Mohanrasu,R. Guru Raj Rao,G.H. Dinesh,G. Siva Prakash,V. Ananthi,Kumar Ponnuchamy,Govarthanan Muthusamy,A. Arun +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the degradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) has been extensively studied in various ecosystems including air, soil, marine water and sediments.
Journal ArticleDOI
Simultaneous biohydrogen (H2) and bioplastic (poly-β-hydroxybutyrate-PHB) productions under dark, photo, and subsequent dark and photo fermentation utilizing various wastes
G.H. Dinesh,Dinh Duc Nguyen,Balasubramani Ravindran,Balasubramani Ravindran,Soon Woong Chang,Dai-Viet N. Vo,Quang-Vu Bach,Hai Nguyen Tran,M. Jothi Basu,K. Mohanrasu,Ramu Satheesh Murugan,T. Angelin Swetha,G. Sivapraksh,Arokiyaraj Selvaraj,A. Arun +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focused on bio hydrogen (H2) and bioplastic (i.e., poly-β-hydroxybutyrate; PHB) productions utilizing various wastes under dark fermentation, photo fermentation and subsequent dark-photo fermentation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Exploring multi potential uses of marine bacteria; an integrated approach for PHB production, PAHs and polyethylene biodegradation.
K. Mohanrasu,N. Premnath,G. Siva Prakash,Muniyasamy Sudhakar,Muniyasamy Sudhakar,T. Boobalan,A. Arun +6 more
TL;DR: Of the 203 microbial isolates, the best PHB producing (Micrococcus luteus), PAHs degradation (Klebsiella pneumonia) and HDPE degradation (Brevibacillus borstelensis) microorganisms were identified through 16S rRNA sequencing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of C/N substrates for enhanced extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) production and Poly Cyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) degradation.
N. Premnath,K. Mohanrasu,R. Guru Raj Rao,G.H. Dinesh,G. Siva Prakash,Arivalagan Pugazhendhi,Jeyaraman Jeyakanthan,Muthusamy Govarthanan,Ponnuchamy Kumar,A. Arun +9 more
TL;DR: The present study demonstrates the EPS influenced PAHs degradation of Klebsiella pneumoniae with the help of confocal laser scanning microscopy and scanning electron microscope.
Journal ArticleDOI
Optimization of media components and culture conditions for polyhydroxyalkanoates production by Bacillus megaterium
K. Mohanrasu,R. Guru Raj Rao,G.H. Dinesh,Kunyu Zhang,G. Siva Prakash,Dong-Po Song,Sudhakar Muniyasamy,Sudhakar Muniyasamy,Arivalagan Pugazhendhi,Jeyaraman Jeyakanthan,A. Arun +10 more
TL;DR: Polyhydroxybutyrate accumulating Bacillus megaterium was isolated from marine water and was confirmed to be PHB using FTIR, 1H NMR, DSC and TGA analysis, respectively.
