Journal ArticleDOI

Methanol from atmospheric carbon dioxide : A liquid zero emission fuel for the future

TL;DR: In this paper, an integration of biomass as a basic product for the synthesis of methanol improves the conversion efficiency from solar energy to methanoline, and a lower energy demand for the recovery of CO2 from atmosphere than from combustion fluegases is achieved.
Journal ArticleDOI

CO2 removal and fixation solar high temperature syngas generation for fuel synthesis

TL;DR: In this paper, two processes for climate neutral methanol synthesis working with high temperature processes for syngas generation from CO2 and water are described, which offer a better efficiency for the use of solar energy compared to alternative processes with higher electricity demand.

Comparison of CO{sub 2} - sources for fuel synthesis

TL;DR: In this article, the potential of renewable energy sources is by several magnitudes higher than any estimated future world energy demand, however, large renewable energies sources are almost located far away of the main energy consumption areas, e.g. in desert regions, mountains or over the oceans.
