Journal ArticleDOI
The ubiquitin hybrid gene UBA52 regulates ubiquitination of ribosome and sustains embryonic development.
Masanori Kobayashi,Shigeru Oshima,Chiaki Maeyashiki,Yoichi Nibe,Kana Otsubo,Yu Matsuzawa,Yasuhiro Nemoto,Takashi Nagaishi,Ryuichi Okamoto,Kiichiro Tsuchiya,Tetsuya Nakamura,Mamoru Watanabe +11 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the Ubiquitin-coding gene UBA52 is not just an ubiquitin supplier to the ubiquit in pool but is also a regulator of the ribosomal protein complex.
Journal ArticleDOI
Novel polyubiquitin imaging system, PolyUb-FC, reveals that K33-linked polyubiquitin is recruited by SQSTM1/p62.
Yoichi Nibe,Shigeru Oshima,Masanori Kobayashi,Chiaki Maeyashiki,Yu Matsuzawa,Kana Otsubo,Hiroki Matsuda,Emi Aonuma,Yasuhiro Nemoto,Takashi Nagaishi,Ryuichi Okamoto,Kiichiro Tsuchiya,Tetsuya Nakamura,Shinichiro Nakada,Mamoru Watanabe +14 more
TL;DR: Findings provide novel insights into how atypical polyubiquitin is recruited by SQSTM1/p62 and an inducible-PolyUb-FC system for visualizing chain-specific polyubanquitin.
Journal ArticleDOI
HADHA, the alpha subunit of the mitochondrial trifunctional protein, is involved in long-chain fatty acid-induced autophagy in intestinal epithelial cells
Chiaki Maeyashiki,Shigeru Oshima,Kana Otsubo,Masanori Kobayashi,Yoichi Nibe,Yu Matsuzawa,Michio Onizawa,Yasuhiro Nemoto,Takashi Nagaishi,Ryuichi Okamoto,Kiichiro Tsuchiya,Tetsuya Nakamura,Mamoru Watanabe +12 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that HADHA is involved in long-chain fatty acid-induced autophagy in IECs, thus providing new insights into the pathology of IBD and revealing novel therapeutic targets of I BD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Receptor-Interacting Protein Kinase 3 (RIPK3) inhibits autophagic flux during necroptosis in intestinal epithelial cells.
Kana Otsubo,Chiaki Maeyashiki,Yoichi Nibe,Akiko Tamura,Emi Aonuma,Hiroki Matsuda,Masanori Kobayashi,Michio Onizawa,Yasuhiro Nemoto,Takashi Nagaishi,Ryuichi Okamoto,Kiichiro Tsuchiya,Tetsuya Nakamura,Satoru Torii,Eisuke Itakura,Mamoru Watanabe,Shigeru Oshima +16 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the activation of necroptosis with TNF‐α plus the cell‐permeable pan‐caspase inhibitor Z‐VAD induces LC3‐II and LC3 puncta, markers of autophagosomes, via the receptor‐interacting protein kinase 3 (RIPK3) in intestinal epithelial cells, indicating that necroPTosis attenuates autophagic flux before the lysosome fusion step.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nickel particles are present in Crohn's disease tissue and exacerbate intestinal inflammation in IBD susceptible mice.
Hiroki Matsuda,Yoichi Nibe-Shirakihara,Akiko Tamura,Emi Aonuma,Satoko Arakawa,Kana Otsubo,Yasuhiro Nemoto,Takashi Nagaishi,Kiichiro Tsuchiya,Shigeomi Shimizu,Averil Ma,Mamoru Watanabe,Motohiro Uo,Ryuichi Okamoto,Shigeru Oshima +14 more
TL;DR: This article showed that nickel particle ingestion may worsen Crohn's disease by perturbing autophagic processes in the intestine, providing new insights into environmental factors in Crohn disease pathogenesis.
