Journal ArticleDOI
Tertiary lymphoid structures improve immunotherapy and survival in melanoma.
Rita Cabrita,Martin Lauss,Adriana Sanna,Marco Donia,Mathilde Skaarup Larsen,Shamik Mitra,Iva Johansson,Bengt Phung,Katja Harbst,Johan Vallon-Christersson,Alison van Schoiack,Kristina Lövgren,Sarah Warren,Karin Jirström,Håkan Olsson,Kristian Pietras,Christian Ingvar,Karolin Isaksson,Dirk Schadendorf,Henrik Schmidt,Lars Bastholt,Ana Carneiro,Jennifer A. Wargo,Inge Marie Svane,Göran Jönsson +24 more
TL;DR: It is found that the co-occurrence of tumour-associated CD8 + T cells and CD20 + B cells, and the formation of tertiary lymphoid structures, are linked with improved survival in cohorts of patients with metastatic melanoma.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multiregion Whole-Exome Sequencing Uncovers the Genetic Evolution and Mutational Heterogeneity of Early-Stage Metastatic Melanoma
Katja Harbst,Martin Lauss,Helena Cirenajwis,Karolin Isaksson,Frida Rosengren,Therese Törngren,Anders Kvist,Maria C Johansson,Johan Vallon-Christersson,Bo Baldetorp,Åke Borg,Håkan Olsson,Christian Ingvar,Ana Carneiro,Göran Jönsson +14 more
TL;DR: The multiregion tumor-sequencing approach highlights the genetic evolution and non-UVB mutational signatures associated with melanoma development and progression, and may provide a more comprehensive perspective of patient outcome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevention of Abdominal Adhesions - Present State and What's beyond the Horizon?
TL;DR: Possible ways to prevent abdominal adhesions are discussed and an update is provided as comes to where the authors stand today in research regarding experimental and clinical use of various antiadhesive agents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term Follow-up for Adhesive Small Bowel Obstruction After Open Versus Laparoscopic Surgery for Suspected Appendicitis.
TL;DR: Hospitalization due to SBO, between open and laparoscopic procedures, in patients operated on because of suspected appendicitis demonstrated a significant difference, favoring the Laparoscopic approach.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Role of PTEN Loss in Immune Escape, Melanoma Prognosis and Therapy Response
Rita Cabrita,Shamik Mitra,Adriana Sanna,Henrik Ekedahl,Kristina Lövgren,Håkan Olsson,Christian Ingvar,Karolin Isaksson,Martin Lauss,Ana Carneiro,Göran Jönsson +10 more
TL;DR: It is confirmed in this cohort that PTEN alterations promote immune evasion highlighted by decreased frequency of T-cell infiltration in such tumors, resulting in a worse patient survival, and suggested that dedifferentiated PTEN negative melanoma tumors have poor patient outcome, no T- cell infiltration, and transcriptional properties rendering them resistant to targeted- and immuno-therapy.
