Quantitative Assessment of Cerebral Blood Flow in Patients with Alzheimer's Disease by SPECT
Peter Bartenstein,Satoshi Minoshima,Christine Hirsch,Katharina Buch,Frode Willoch,Dagmar Mösch,Daniel Schad,Markus Schwaiger,Alexander Kurz +8 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that this observer-independent analysis of SPECT data enables objective and semiquantitative assessment of the magnitude and extent of cortical perfusion abnormalities in patients with AD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cerebrospinal protein tau is elevated in early Alzheimer's disease
TL;DR: It is concluded that protein tau in CSF might be helpful as a biological marker for the early diagnosis of AD and there was no correlation between protein t Tau and the severity of cognitive impairment as assessed with the Mini Mental State Examination.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reduction of regional cerebral blood flow and cognitive impairment in patients with Alzheimer's disease: evaluation of an observer-independent analytic approach.
Christine Hirsch,Peter Bartenstein,Satoshi Minoshima,Dagmar Mösch,Frode Willoch,Katharina Buch,Daniel Schad,Markus Schwaiger,Alexander Kurz +8 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that this observer-independent analysis of SPECT data provides a valid assessment of the pattern and severity of cortical perfusion abnormalities in patients with AD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease with cerebrospinal fluid tau protein and aspartate aminotransferase
TL;DR: Preliminary findings show that tau is a sensitive marker of neuronal degeneration and aspartate aminotransferase could be a complementary marker more specific for Alzheimer’s disease than tau which might be useful in distinguishing this condition from other types of dementia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tau protein. A potential biological indicator for early detection of Alzheimer disease
Katharina Buch,Matthias Riemenschneider,Peter Bartenstein,Frode Willoch,Ulrich Müller,M. Schmolke,T. Nolde,C. Steinmann,W.G. Guder,Alexander Kurz +9 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that CSF tau may be elevated even at the predementia stage of AD and be useful as a biological marker for the early recognition of the disease.
