Journal ArticleDOI

Resilience to climate change: complex relationships among wetland hydroperiod, larval amphibians and aquatic predators in temporary wetlands

TL;DR: Pre-adaptations in temporary wetland species that utilise temporary wetlands with unpredictable hydrology may reflect an adaptive capacity to predicted changes in frequency and reliability of precipitation as a result of climate change, and may apply to other temporary wetlands species.
Journal ArticleDOI

Physiological and behavioural responses to seasonal changes in environmental temperature in the Australian spiny crayfish Euastacus sulcatus

TL;DR: It is found that the semi-terrestrial crayfish E. sulcatus used neither thermoregulatory behaviours nor physiological strategies to deal with seasonal changes in environmental temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Calling phenology and detectability of a threatened amphibian (Litoria olongburensis) in ephemeral wetlands varies along a latitudinal cline: Implications for management

TL;DR: In this article, the authors assessed variation in the phenology, intensity and detectability of calling for a threatened temporary wetland breeding species, Litoria olongburensis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Acid frogs can stand the heat: amphibian resilience to wildfire in coastal wetlands of eastern Australia

TL;DR: In this paper, visual encounter surveys conducted monthly over 2 years revealed different short and long-term responses to fire in three threatened acid frog species (Litoria olongburensis, Litoria freycineti and Crinia tinnula).
