Driving mechanism of SOL plasma flow and effects on the divertor performance in JT-60U

TL;DR: In this article, measurements of the SOL flow and plasma profiles both at the high-field-side (HFS) and low-field side (LFS), for the first time, identified the sol flow pattern and its driving mechanism.
Journal ArticleDOI

Achievement of high fusion performance in jt-60u reversed shear discharges

S. Ishida, +153 more
TL;DR: Fusion performance of reversed shear discharges with an L-mode edge has been significantly improved in a thermonuclear dominant regime with up to 2.8 MA of plasma current in the JT-60U tokamak as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Role of divertor geometry on detachment and core plasma performance in JT60U

TL;DR: In this paper, the divertor geometry was compared in the open and W-shaped divertor and the ion flux near the outer strike point was larger than the open divertor, and the electron temperature at the target was reduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development of Integrated SOL/Divertor Code and Simulation Study in JAEA

TL;DR: An integrated sol/divertor code is developed by the JAEA (Japan Atomic Energy Agency) for interpretation and prediction studies of the behavior of plasmas, neutrals, and impurities in the SOL/Divertor region as discussed by the authors, which can obtain a steady state solution within 3 ˜ 4 hours even in the first run of a series of simulations, allowing the performance of an effective parameter survey.
