Journal ArticleDOI

Isolation and characterization of chum salmon growth hormone

TL;DR: Two molecular forms of salmon growth hormone (sGH), sGH I and II, have been isolated from the pituitary glands of the chum salmon by a two-step extraction procedure subsequent to acid-acetone extraction, suggesting that they may be genetic variants coded on two separate genes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isolation and partial characterization of a pair of prolactins released in vitro by the pituitary of a cichlid fish, Oreochromis mossambicus

TL;DR: HPLC and radio-HPLC analysis of [3H]leucine pulse-chase experiments reveal that each PRL is secreted in vitro at remarkably high rates and that the two PRLs are released in approximately equimolar amounts, suggesting the coordinate regulation of the secretion.
Journal ArticleDOI

Complete amino acid sequences of a pair of fish (tilapia) prolactins, tPRL177 and tPRL188.

TL;DR: The complete amino acid sequences of a pair of tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus) prolactins (PRLs) were determined and Circular dichroism spectra and hydropathy profiles suggest structural similarity of the two PRLs.

Polypeptide derivatives of human granulocyte colony stimulating factor

TL;DR: In this article, a novel hG-CSF polypeptide derivatives having an amino acid sequence derived from the amino acid sequences of the human granulocyte colony stimulating factor polyPEptide by substitution of at least one amino acid by a different amino acid and/or deletion or insertion of another amino acid.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isolation of two forms of growth hormone secreted from eel pituitaries in vitro

TL;DR: Both eGHI and eGHII were equipotent to ovine GH in promoting growth of juvenile rainbow trout and comparison of the partial N-terminal amino acids indicates that sequence 1 to 36 of GHII is exactly the same as 4 to 39 of GHI.
