Journal ArticleDOI

Silicon-Based Materials from Rice Husks and Their Applications

TL;DR: In this article, the methods of synthesizing silicon-based materials from rice husks and their applications are reviewed in a very comprehensive manner, including silicon carbide, silica, silicon nitride, silicon tetrachloride, and pure silicon.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation and characterization of poly(vinyl acetate)-intercalated graphite oxide nanocomposite

TL;DR: In this article, a polyvinyl acetate intercalated graphite oxide nanocomposite was prepared by an in situ intercalative polymerization reaction, in which an n-octanol-graphite oxide intercalation compound was first obtained, and then the vinyl acetate monomer was then dispersed into the interlayer of the modified graphite oxide, followed by thermally polymerizing the monomer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and properties of polystyrene/graphite nanocomposites

TL;DR: In this article, a graphite/polystyrene nanocomposite is synthesized by in situ polymerization of styrene in a tetrahydrofuran (THF) solution system of graphite intercalation compound (GIC).
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation of exfoliated graphite/polystyrene composite by polymerization-filling technique

TL;DR: A composite based on exfoliated graphite (EG) and polystyrene was prepared by a polymerization-filling technique as mentioned in this paper, which showed a higher thermal stability than that of pure poly styrene/EG composite prepared by melt-blending.
