Design of Steel Triangular Plate Energy Absorbers for Seismic-Resistant Construction

TL;DR: In this article, a steel triangular plate added damping and stiffness device (TADAS) was used for earthquake-resistant building construction, and the effects of the ratio of the TADAS element stiffness to that of the bare frame, and of the entire frame yield strength to that associated with the added DBS element on the seismic response of the added stiffness structures were discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Axial load behavior of stiffened concrete-filled steel columns

TL;DR: In this paper, the axial load behavior of concrete-filled steel tubular (CFT) columns with the width-to-thickness ratios between 40 and 150 was investigated and an effective stiffening scheme was proposed to improve the mechanical properties of square cross-sectional CFT columns.
Journal ArticleDOI

Seismic self‐centering steel beam‐to‐column moment connections using bolted friction devices

TL;DR: In this paper, the force-deformation relationship of a post-tensioned (PT) steel beam-to-column connection constructed with bolted web friction devices (FDs) was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Testing of Full-Scale Two-Story Steel Plate Shear Wall with Reduced Beam Section Connections and Composite Floors

TL;DR: In this paper, a two-phase experimental program was generated on a full-scale two-story steel plate shear wall with reduced beam section connections and composite floors, to experimentally address the replaceability of infill panels following an earthquake and the seismic behavior of the intermediate beam.
