Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of number of metastatic lymph nodes on survival of curative resected thoracic esophageal cancer patients and value of radiotherapy: Report of 549 cases
Zefen Xiao,Z. Yang,Yan-Jun Miao,Luhua Wang,Weibo Yin,Xian-Zhi Gu,De-Chao Zhang,Kelin Sun,Gui-Yu Chen,Jie He +9 more
TL;DR: In this study, postoperative RT improved the survival of patients with positive lymph nodes and reduced the incidence of intrathoracic recurrence and supraclavicular lymph node metastasis for all patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epidermal growth factor receptor is a prognosis predictor in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
Wencheng Zhang,Wencheng Zhang,Hongxia Zhu,Xiao Liu,Qifeng Wang,Xun Zhang,Jie He,Kelin Sun,Xiangyang Liu,Zongmei Zhou,Ningzhi Xu,Zefen Xiao +11 more
TL;DR: Expression of EGFR can be a prognostic predictor for ESCC and patients with high expression of EG FR may benefit from postoperative radiation therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Expression of epidermal growth factor receptor is an independent prognostic factor for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma
Qifeng Wang,Hongxia Zhu,Zefen Xiao,Wencheng Zhang,Xiao Liu,Xun Zhang,Jie He,Kelin Sun,Lvhua Wang,Ningzhi Xu +9 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that EGFR overexpression was an independent prognostic factor for overall survival and disease-free survival of ESCC patients, however, targeting of EGFR activity using gefitinib or erlotinib could be useful for clinical treatment of ES CC patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Management of primary small cell carcinoma of the esophagus.
TL;DR: Surgical resection is the leading method for patients with stage I or II primary small cell carcinoma of the esophagus with a poor prognosis and postoperative chemotherapy is beneficial to these patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative study of video-assisted thoracic surgery versus open thymectomy for thymoma in one single center.
Zuyang Yuan,Gui-yu Cheng,Kelin Sun,Yousheng Mao,Jian Li,Yonggang Wang,Dali Wang,Shugeng Gao,Qi Xue,Jin-Feng Huang,Juwei Mu +10 more
TL;DR: Thymoma according with Masaoka staging I-II without evident invading seems to be performed through VATS approach appropriately, which has shorter postoperative hospital LOS, less blood loss and less restrictions to activities, hence patients will recover sooner.
