Journal ArticleDOI
Blowing Hot and Cold: Body Temperature and the Microbiome.
TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss the evidence linking body temperature and the intestinal microbiome and their implications for microbiome function during hypothermia, heat stress, and fever, with consistent effects on community diversity and stability.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors identify predominant gut microbial species sharing a parallel evolutionary history with human populations, and show that the same strains also faithfully transmit between mothers and their children, consistent with the development of intimate symbiosis, species with strongest patterns of codiversification have the smallest genomes.
